Note from the music dept.... WINTER ROCK

Wednesday, December 14th, 2016
7:00 p.m.

Your child has been working very hard towards this concert and we hope you and your family can be there to support them. Feel free to email or call us if you have any questions.

  • Concert Attire:
Morning - The students may wear regular school clothes in the daytime - but please no t-shirts with logos or words.
Evening - Our concert is all about rock and roll music in the 1950s/early 60s. We would like the students to dress as though they were from that time period!  Here are some ideas to get you started:
  • Girls: Full skirts, cardigans, sweaters, jeans, capri pants, leather jackets, high ponytails, etc.
  • Boys:  Jeans, white t-shirts, button-down shirts, leather jackets, varsity jackets, sunglasses, black boots, greased hair, etc.
  • Have fun with your outfit choice, and don’t feel as though you have to purchase something.  See what’s in your closet, or borrow something from a friend!

  • Call Time:
Please make sure that your child arrives to the school no later than 6:40 p.m.  Band students will report to the music room, string students will report to the lesson room, and chorus students who do not play an instrument will report to the Art Room at 6:50pm.

  • Please note: ALL 4th and 5th graders must attend the Winter Concert. The students have been working so hard since September to prepare for this performance, and we need all of their wonderful voices in our ensemble!  (Please contact us in advance if you have a conflict with attendance)

* We look forward to seeing you there! *

Happy Thanksgiving

I want to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving.  I am thankful for the children I have the opportunity to work with and the supportive community I live in.  The children worked very hard on their Thanksgiving speeches and I think you will agree that the results were impressive.  Links to the videos are up on the tab on top of this page.

Important Notice!!!

Team 234 families, I mistakenly took the back to school night date from the initial school year calendar and did not update my records when the date was changed.  Back to Night is tomorrow night Wednesday September 14th at 6:30.  I apologize any inconvenience my error may have caused.

First Week!

Team 234!

First week is in the bag!  You did a great job working on your math placement test, classroom rules, and getting to know you projects.  Next week we are getting into academics.  I have a couple of important notes:

1.  If you have not sent in the green Camp Bournedale health form yet I need it ASAP.  As a reminder the back of the form needs to be signed by a doctor to authorize medicines like Tylenol to be administered by the camp nurse.  Alternatively, a parent can sign the form not authorizing medicines to be administered.  The downside to option #2 is that if a child has a minor headache the only options will be to wait it out or have a parent drive to Bournedale.

2.  Orchestra lessons start Monday!  Bring your instruments.

3.  Our summer reading test has been postponed until Thursday due to the religious holiday next week.
