Homework Schedule and Expectations
Fifth grade homework schedule:
Nightly: 10 minutes of ST Math, 10 minutes of independent reading
Monday: Math homework goes home (due Thursday)
Tuesday: Complete first reflection journal entry
Wednesday: Possible social studies or science HW
Thursday: Complete 2nd reflection journal entry (complete journal due on Friday)

Fifth grade homework expectations:
- all fifth graders will have a regular, predictable homework schedule.
- homework will focus on math fluency, independent reading, review, reinforcement, and application of skills.
- students will complete 10 minutes of math fact fluency Monday - Thursday night on ST math.
- students will read for 10 minutes each night Monday - Thursday from an assigned genre.
- math review will go home on Monday and be due back Thursday.
- reflection journals will go home Monday and be due back Friday.
- any science or social studies assignments will go home on Wednesday nights.
- homework should take, at most, 50 minutes per night.
